Chocolate and apple buns
Your Saf helper for this recipe:
- ½ sachet Saf-instant yeast 11g
- 333g strong white flour
- 60g wholemeal flour
- 60g sugar
- 7g salt
- 40g butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 80ml water
- 60g chocolate chips
- 60g apple
1- In a bowl, mix the flours, sugar, salt, egg yolk, softened butter and water then add the yeast mixed with a little water.
2- Mix with a spatula for 2 minutes then add the diced apple and the chocolate chips.
3- Mix and knead again until you have an even consistency.
4- Bring the dough into a ball, put it back in the bowl and cover with a damp cloth.
5- Leave to rest in a warm place for 45 minutes.
6- Divide the ball into 12 equal parts, each around 60 g in weight, then cover and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
7- Shape into small buns, put them on a baking sheet, cover and leave to rest for 60 minutes.
8- Bake for around 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 200°C.
Ingredient temperature performs a significant role in developing proper structure in many baked goods. For this recipe, it is recommended to use ingredients in room temperature.
